UK Feline Mutilations

 — “The animals have been cut with a “sharp object.
… It’s difficult as the cats are (often) found at midday and then we
have to work out when they were last seen — the ones with owners that is.”

– Andy Collin, Detective Sergeant, Croydon, U. K. Police Dept.

— “There have been upwards of 50 cats, rabbits and foxes found dead,
apparently murdered, near London over the past couple of years.”

– South Norwood, U. K., Animal Rescue and Liberty (SNARL)

We’ve all heard of the supposed links from either ET groups or some covert element of the military to cow mutilations in the USA and further afield –  but it seems the UK  has an on-going situation where smaller animals are found in bizarre states….

March 6, 2016  London Borough of Croydon region 12 miles south of London, England – There have been some fifty bloodless cat, fox and rabbit mutilations between January 2014 to January 2016, centered around the Borough of Croydon in the county of Surrey a little south of London. Since the end of December 2015, PETA in England has increased a reward for information to convict “cat killers” up to £5,000 ($7,116). The South Norwood Animal Rights and Liberty (SNARL) group near Croydon is appealing for anyone with information or concerns about cat mutilations to contact them.

Croydon Police Detective Sergeant Andy Collin is leading the cat mutilation investigation and says the cats mutilations are “one of the most bizarre” investigations in his 28-year-career. Recently he told the Croydon Advertiser that the animals have been cut with a “sharp object. … It’s difficult as the cats are (often) found at midday and then we have to work out when they were last seen — the ones with owners that is.”

Bloodless Cat Mutilation History

Since the 1970s, there have been cycles of bloodless cat mutilations in repeating geographic areas of the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. In 1978 in St. Catharines near Toronto, Canada, authorities were frustrated by more than 100 missing cats and dogs and many others found in their owners’ yards cut in half, skinned, decapitated, disemboweled, or paws removed, without blood at the site.

Ten years later on August 13, 1989, The New York Times reported about 67 cats found mutilated in Tustin, California — a suburb of Los Angeles near Santa Ana. The NYT wrote:

“Some of the cats were cut in half with what some say is almost surgical precision, others disemboweled or skinned. One resident said, ‘There is never any blood at the scene, the animals are often dismembered with surgical precision and paws and other body parts are often left on the ground in strikingly similar arrangements. No one ever seems to hear anything, nor do dogs bark during the killing.’ It was believed the cats are captured, taken elsewhere, their blood drained and organs removed, then replaced on their owners’ lawns.”

In each of these mutilation cycles, many of the animals have been found cut in half bloodlessly, usually with the front half of the cat placed to be found. Many investigators have concluded that the animals are taken from their homes to some other place, killed and cut, and then returned to yards and sidewalks near their owner with the intent to have the half-cats discovered. One male cat in Bothell, Washington, in August 2003, had his mid-section excised along with internal organs.
